My new series of paintings, “Their We Go Transitioning," critiques the spread of social polarization. To challenge the status quo, I apply a cross-cutting approach to painting. Subjects on the picture plane are unlinked to a point of view; the unsorted content leaves open-ended questions. The mixing of oil paint, spray paint, reflective materials, and objects forms a neutrally visual means of eliciting a wide reading. In the reflections viewers are drawn into context, become active participants, and give shape to the creative frame of reference. “Their We Go Transitioning” is an opportunity to reflect in and upon paradigm social shifts.
