HAI Stoudio & Gallery was an artistic empowerment zone for people who confront social discrimination and chronic health conditions. It was formed in the early 1990's in response to a call from myself and others for social justice through art. The location was on Broadway in a large Soho loft, which was the epicenter of the art scene in Manhattan. As founder I served as artist-in-residence and curator since the inception, funding was provided by the NYCDOHMH, and the NEA.
