The Institutional Gold article in Hype Magazine Vol. VII, includes my photo of James Lee Byars's performance art where he and six others including the art critic Tom McEviley and the Mudman performance artist Kim Jones. Together the sniffed 7 Cultural Institutions in NYC during a tropical depression as I documented the performance in 1987. This performance fits neatly into Byars's oeuvre of utopian ideals. The photograph is a breath of fresh air in the mist of the Institutional Smell Series.
